Vision & Districts

Development Opportunities

Main Street District offers exciting possibilities for developers, investors, and property owners. New zoning changes and design guidelines create a framework for profitable development while enhancing Roscoe's downtown character.

Our Vision for Main Street District

Main Street District Roscoe will become a walkable village center where residents and visitors connect with commerce, community, and nature. This plan establishes two distinct districts that work together to create a vibrant downtown experience.

Place Principles

Gathering Place

Main Street District Roscoe will be a vibrant hub where people socialize, shop, work, and play. Public spaces, events, and amenities will foster community interaction and create a lively atmosphere throughout the day and evening.

Seamlessly Connected

We will prioritize walkability and multi-modal transportation, making it easy and enjoyable for people to move around Main Street District and connect to the broader community. Street design, bike infrastructure, and pedestrian amenities will create a welcoming environment for all modes of travel.

Vibrant Economy

We will cultivate a diverse and resilient local economy supporting established businesses and emerging entrepreneurs. The mixed use development will create opportunities for various commercial activities, from retail and dining to office spaces and creative industries.

Resilient EnVIRONMENT

Main Street District development will respect and enhance our natural environment. Green spaces, sustainable design practices, and connections to nearby natural amenities will create a resilient and environmentally friendly village core.

Choice Destination

Main Street District Roscoe will be a unique destination that attracts visitors from across the region. Our distinct character, events, and amenities will make Main Street District where people choose to visit, shop, and spend time.

CELEBRATE HERITAGE

While embracing future growth, this plan honors Roscoe's rich history and small town charm. Building style/character preservation, adaptive reuse of buildings, and design guidelines will ensure that new development complements our existing character.
